Firmware upgrade (engine), resolving a paper jam
FS-2000D/3900DN/4000DN/6950DN
The engine firmware has been upgraded to solve the following problem
Symptom before firmware upgrade:
‘Drum refresh mode’ is initated when paper which is fed from MP tray after which it stops on the Drum Unit.
The paper is the output earlier than usual and sometimes causes “Paper Jam” to be displayed.

Cause
The actuator over flow in the FD unit may not go down, resulting in incorrect detection of paper full.
Solution
The following changes have been made:

Error codes may occur.
Cause
The cooling fans at the left side (2 pieces), right side (2 pieces) or engine PCB (1 piece) are
mounted with the label side facing the outside of the machine.
Under this condition the air flow circulates improperly, raising the temperature inside the machine.
Solution
Please make sure that the label sides of all the above mentioned cooling fans are facing the inside
of the machine.

Phenomenon
Error code 6000 (broken fuser heater lamp wire) may occur.
Cause
In low temperature environments the inner temperature of the machine may drop to 19 °C or lower.
The machine will detect this as low temperature, and will raise the fuser temperature with 10 °C
during printing.
As a result the thermostat will blow.
Solution
The fuser temperature control has been changed, too consider low temperature environments.
